Searching
05:35
|
|||
To excavate, open wide
Renovate and find
The sun beats down, the dust is dry
I'm the one off to the side
The people walk past, the skies open wide
Rain drops pour, but pass me by
[Chorus]
Confusion is a constant battle, not only waged between two
But between those who desire a place in life and the ones who search for truth
Searching..
Come on and dig, look past the sky
Search for your bones, find your heart in the wild
Your rib in the dust, searching for life in your lusts
Oh my

Found.
03:42
|
|||
I am not a strong person
But my strength is not for use
You are a strong person
And Your strength I will choose
[Chorus]
I picked and looked and poured
Excavated all of my soul
I searched and see and saw and found..
Life and sound..
I swear I'm a good person
Who has simply lost my sight
And is simply distracted in mind
But I swear I trust the Lord
As much as I can
And with all the I am (or I try)
And I'm so angry, oh so angry
Why am I angry? No one knows
And though I'm found and saved and raised
I'm still human and mess up, unashamed
But the wrath of man cannot produce the righteousness of God.
[Chorus]

3. |
||||
I desire what I should not
And want what I can't have
I hate myself
And love my past
I'm a changed man
But feel no different than before
What's different in me if I feel no change at my core
I use my strength to stop
Stop all I can
But my strength is smaller than a tiny grain of sand
[Chorus]
And the river went dry
And the Lake filled up
I gave Him all and He restored my cup
I rely on myself
And strive to be
I can't make up my mind
But she's so sure of everything
I could swear she wasn't
Wasn't made for me
But I can't seperate myself from she
So I will use another strength than mine
And I will change as it is
It is now my time
Oh my..
[Chorus]
I desire what I should not.

The House On The Hill
04:42
|
|||
The road ahead is long and dry
It's path is dust and leads up high
The weeds to the side bend to the will
Of the wind as it rolls down the hill
With our tents spinning 'round
The people inside all fall out
[Chorus]
But the house on the hill doesn't move
Doesn't budge
Shakes no more soon than the Man inside will waver His mind
By and by, He stays the same.
And all the tents disappear
The people alone, all in fear
They need a place to go, they have to hide
In the brush along the side
Of the road, so long and dry
But if they choose they can follow the path up high
[Chorus]
Once they've arrived to the porch
The sun wakes up and lights the door
And if you lightly tap on it's front
The door will quickly open up
The wooden creak is a homely sound
"Please enter in - You've been found!"
[Chorus]

The beach below the sun in the sky
Burned bright beside the grass
Which waved to and fro as if saying hello
To the ocean sea, like glass
And the tide so slow, was gently gripping and going
With the waves in the sea, who sat still like a sheet
Over the sand and grain up past the coral reef
All while the fish swam by, calm and cool
[Chorus]
Oh my, my God, what have I done?
It all washed away with time and now I'm stuck
It seemed as sweet as life, but was as red as my blood
Soon to spill
By the fleeting treasures and the trapping fetters
Of a colorful lure who caught this fish in a pool
And as my riches grow wings to take flight and leave
I must repent.

An Open Grave
03:43
|
|||
I fell into an open grave
Which swallowed me whole
With it's lips before
I could escape from it's dreadful fate
Oh, oh..
I fell into an open grave
Which led me slow
With it's tongue to show
Me my end, oh, oh
Oh, oh..
[Chorus]
And not even this Roman wisdom
Or what the Psalmist's sing
Could have saved me from this misery
But You did
Yea, You did.
I fell into an open grave
Full of curses and bitter days
Where no Roman wisdom could have saved..
Me..
But You did
Yes, You did
Yea, You did.
[Chorus]
I came out from an open grave
Where no one could have saved
But You did
Yea, You did
Yes, You did
Yes, You did.

A Wretched Disease
08:05
|
|||
Bring out your dead!
He looks to the sky
For the rest of his friends, the cart has arrived
Bring out your dead!
The sky burns bright
Don't look at your friends burning on the pyre
"There's one last thing I'll ask of you!"
He pleading screamed
"Oh, please don't give me that wretched disease!"
Buried to ascend!
Their souls would arise
But not tonight
There is no saving light
Buried to ascend!
The pastor arrives
Little solemn words are spoken this night
But even the average man
Of simple mind can see
That the dead are really the freed
"Oh no, please don't give me that disease.
Oh no, save me, oh my god."
The man went to the river to pray
To ask his god why he was treated this way
His god replied not once
Betrayed, the man grew angry and gave up his faith
"There's one last thing I'll ask of you!"
He pleading screamed
"Oh, please give me that wretched disease!"
Because even the average man
Of simple mind can see
That the dead are really the freed.

Beyond The Cliffs
06:10
|
|||
Beyond the cliffs are my desires
My emotions, my false devotions
Below the bluffs, I require
A helping hand to slow me, now
Before I crash and burn, and fall down
[Chorus]
Beyond the cliffs are all I had and ever will
Below the bluffs are all of my life stills
But on the mountain top with me is what can truly fill
Beyond the cliffs, below the bluffs..
[Chorus 2]
Beyond the cliffs are all I had and ever will
Below the bluffs are all of my life stills
But on the mountain top with me is what can truly fill
Beyond the cliffs, so helter skelter
Below the bluffs are all of the times that I felt her
But on the mountain top with me is my true shelter
Beyond the cliffs, below the bluffs..
